Gambling at unemployed ferry boat

Kiranpani Aronda ferryIt has been lying at the ferry boat dock in Paliyem, Goa ‎for more than six weeks. “I don’t understand why this ferry is still anchored at the wharf, while on other routes in Goa there is a lack of boat services. The ferry has gone out of business after the inauguration of the alternative connection,” commented a Paliyem resident.

Alternative functions

Other locals claim that builders of the mining pier have obstructed the ferry dock. This alleged barricade impedes the boat to sail off in the event of problems with the new bridge. Additionally, the ferryboat might be useful in case of emergencies. For the time being, locals will continue using the ferry for illegal gambling and partying.
